Cat runs laps in house! Help!?

I got a cat from a pound rescue last year and she has been fixed, and all of her immunizations, etc. She is completely healthy, maybe a little overweight now but that's it. She has lately begun to constantly run laps through my condo. I cannot get her to stop. She has injured all of us, because she runs over our feet and causes deep scratches. Its a compulsive thing that she does all day long and we are sick of it! What can be done? She has plenty of toys and scratching posts.

However you shouldn't get to held up with names like Harvard, Yale or Princeton when it comes to medical school. Hopkins is a great medical school but there are many medical schools out there which are going to give you great opportunities that aren't as expensive as long as you excel.

I have a cat litter box question?

I help with a rescue and have 6 cats currently (All spayed and neutored). All the cats have some kind of special needs. I love every one of them dearly they are my four-legged kids LOL. Here is the question what automatic litter box would you say is best for this many cats and depending on what the needs are can have two or three more so let me know please. The six cats will never be able to be adopted so I will keep them unless a proper home is found and where I live that is very slim it would ever happen. I've been on anti-depressants (Effexor a.k.a Venlafaxine) for well over a year now. When I was taking them regularly I was so many times happier than without them, but I could never really attest whether it was attributable to the tablets, or whether my life was better once I left university. Concerned about possible hoarding?

Ok, 8 years ago i rescued my dog from a local no kill rescue. She is very sweet and i also rescued another little girl who decided to escape and this rescue group found her so i had to go to the place where this woman keep all the dogs. My Little puppy at the time when i got there was stuck in a tiny chicken wire fence with like 7 other dogs and she was matted in poop and the lady told me im lucky shes not keeping my dog, well all the dogs are in nasty poop filled chicken wire "kennels" and they are chained up in these "kennels" and before i saw the deplorable conditions they were in i recommended her to people but she has gotten to the point where she wont let anyone adopt these dogs, I know she has the right to turn people down but its ridiculous and i don know what to do, these animals are suffering, and the local human society wont do anything. Any advice?

Bioshock 2 Little Sisters, where are they?

So I just bought Bioshock 2 today (Pretty epic game so far) and I'm in the level where you gotta fight you way to the old black lady then either spare her or kill her. I found one sister no problem and collected my ADAMS but the other two (I believe it's 2 because when I finished the level and reached the train it pop'd up with a messaged warning me to go get the other 2 sisters to upgrade my powers) are missing. I opened the map and searched each level but there are no markings indicating where they are. I even heard one in the pawn shop area talking but no matter where I look I can't find her (She's stopped talking as well so I assume she's no longer there). I did find another Big Daddy and killed him but there was no little sister around, do they just pop up randomly? He looks like a jack russell mix very cute. but determining a dogs age is by the teeth and if there is a full mouth of em and some are loose or come loose soon he wont get very large. if he has few teeth and more are coming in he is young like 8 wks old. paw size will give you better size as adult. big paws on a puppy means big dog as adult and will mean the puppy is youger like 6 wks or less. smaller paws 8 to 10 weeks old. Should I get a second kitten?

I rescued a little kitten and have absolutely fallen in love with him! I am not a cat person at all but now I definitely am. I've found that he's even way cheaper than my dog (Giant Schnauzer) on vet bills, food, etc. He is so full of energy like most kittens, I'm sure! He's only 5-6 weeks (he was abandoned) and is a crazy little guy. He's constantly playing and having a good time and has even warmed up to my dog. I am a student, however, and I will be gone in the fall for most of the day and unlike my dog, I can't send him to daycare during the day . It would all depend on your GPA and test scores, the first five seem to be pretty tough to get in. For Ivy League it seems as though you need more than just a good GPA, test scores, and a playing a few sports because most people have that, you need something that sets you well beyond any other kid. Maybe the University of Florida or University of Miami would be easier to get in since they aren't as prestigious.

I have one that I rescued she was on death row at Lied Animal Shelter. All ratty lookin. They found her on the side of road with her tags but the phone number was scratched and couldnt read it. My other schnauzer was euthanized. from liver failure. And why did the people not check the shelter that lost her? Well now she has a professional haircut and is very healthy. Well, I do say I am against people who get intimate before marriage,because the Lord is against it both. The problem with gay people is that they always want to change things to have their way and it always hurt somebody else. Trying to decide if I should get another Cocktiel?

We unexpectedly rescued a cockatiel from a tree outside my work almost 2 years ago. We put ads out but no one claimed him so instead of taking him to a shelter we decided to keep him & named him Harley. Did alot of research when we got him because I've never had one before and since then we have become to love him to death. His previous owner must have been kind to him because he is mostly hand tamed and loves to be out of his cage, however, he doesn't get out of his cage as much as he used to due to our schedules and us already having 4 dogs so we need to have Harley in a separate room when we do take him out. My husband is at home most of the day so Harley does get at least an hour out a day and on the weekends I spend at least an hour a day with him. We also put him in our living room during the day and in our bedroom at night so he is always in our sight and we also communicate with him throughout the day as much as we can. However, sometime I feel guilty that he is still not getting enough time out of his cage. When he is out, he doesn't really explore. He pretty much stays on our shoulders but lately he is not wanting to go back into his cage when its time. I do not know if he came from a home with another bird or not. Me and my husband have contemplated getting another one for about a year now but are torn. I have read that if you have 2 birds, then they will bond more with each other than with you. We certainly don't want that. However, if we did get another would it be acceptable to permanently keep them in separate cages. I really don't want to house them together. I don't mind the extra cleaning work, but what if we put their cages side by side and they seem to get along and then get frustrated because they can't have contact with each other. Would that stress them out. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I rescued a baby squirrel (Rocco) out of my wall.?

I rescued a baby squirrel (Rocco) out of my wall. He was about 2-3 months old. I never handled him. I kept him in a cage in the house until he was about 4 months old. He was treated like a famiIy pet. I released him in a tree in the front of my house about a month ago. We put his cage in the tree, he goes in it sometimes, but not for long. It's there if he wants to. I keep his water inside, and his food on top. I have been feeding, and watering him. He sits in the fork of a tree in the afternoon for feeding. In the morning and at night I am not sure where he is. I'm pretty sure he has found a nest in another tree. My question is, We are fixing to move, should I catch him and move him with us? He has been free for a month, and he takes food from me. If not, should I come over and keep feeding him after we move. What should I do? We live in Central Texas Thanks, Sissy

All we really need to know is your unweighted GPA, approximate class rank, SAT/SAT II scores, what you plan to major in, and how you've stood out in that field to impress top schools. None of which you gave here. If it's math and science, the related clubs are a good start, but getting involved in those fields themselves would have been much better. Based on all this, probably a below average shot at those schools.

Is resoling Clarks Crepe soles worth the money you save?

This year I am debating getting another pair of Clarks Desert Boots, or resoling them with Resole America or a similar company. Since the uppers of my old boots are fine, I'd like to just replace the kaput soles. I'm ending my junior year and I've always dreamt of going to Princeton. Is there any chance that I would be accepted into Princeton? I'm a white, middle class male from New Jersey, which is not in my favor. On the other hand, I'm ranked #1 in my class, and I have been recognized as a National AP Scholar, completing 8 APs since my freshman year. My SAT score is a 2280. My PSAT scores also indicate that I will be selected as a National Merit Semifinalist if not Finalist, and I am a member of the National Honor Society. For the past two summers, I have been accepted in the Johns Hopkins CTY program, studying cryptology and genetics in each respective summer. For the rest of the summer, I had waited on/ bused tables at the local diner in my town. In addition to schoolwork, I'm heavily into the arts and have been leads in 8 shows, a mix of dramas and musicals, since my freshman year, having intensely studied voice for the past 4 years. I'm a member of my school's acapella chorus, music ministry group, concert band, jazz band, and brass ensemble, playing the piano, three saxophones, and being able to sing. I'm heavily involved in my church and do large amounts of community service, having started a math tutoring business in my town for any age. I even started a Habitat for Humanity group at my school and have organized trips to New Orleans for two years to help build houses. Okay, I recently rescued a German Shepherd/Husky Mix out of a bad situation. He is gorgeous! Jet Black with white running up the insides of his legs/chest with ice blue eyes. He looks like a lanky wolf. I was pretty much set on the name Fluke but the more I call him by that name the more I don't like it. His original name was "Stampy" which is just awful! The only names I like that I can think of that rhymes with that is Riley and Rocky (both sorta over used). I would really love any ideas yall have. What breed of dog should I be looking into to get?

Yes, I've already asked this question but I'll ask again - I may have changed my mind a little, I don't know. Anyway, I live in a medium-sized house with a good enough sized backyard. I have one dog at this moment (a Chihuahua rescue) and I have a rabbit. I am looking for a dog that would be friendly and sociable (I know that depends on the training though) and an eager to please dog. Small, medium, big - it doesn't matter. I just want a friendly and lovable dog. I'd be training the dog as a puppy if that affects anything. Best Food For My Puppies?

I have a 4 month old rescued lab, Wesson, and a 4 month old GSD, Drake. Wesson is expected to be about 80 pounds judging by how fast he is gaining weight. Drake is expected to be about 140 when he is full grown. He gains about 8 pounds a week and rising. What is the best food to feed both of them so that each of them will get all the nutrition that they need. I don't want to have to feed them specialty food for their specific breed like they have at Petsmart because they share food and play musical bowls every meal time. Any suggestions? What do you feed your big dogs? I have had both of them since they were 6 (Wesson) and 8 (Drake) weeks and they have been on Iams Proactive Puppy but I want to make sure that is the best for them.

I have a tall fence, but my new rescue dog can climb everything including chain link. Any ideas?

My dog is two years old. She escaped weekly from the resuce facility which had tall chain link sides and a chain link top. The workers couldn't figure out how she did it. I don't know exactly, since i attend a public school and not an online school, but in the case of my school he would be suspended. We've had people copy essays and submit them as their own. I remember watching my teacher call down the superintendent, hand her a copy of all the essays, and the guy who copied was expelled because he didn't just copy here and there he copied the entire essay. I'm sure he didn't get off scott free. He better get some form of punishment, i find it ridiculous and stupid of someone across the country to hack an account, copy all the work and claim it as his own.

I was once a genius but now my mind is dull. What can I do to jump start my brain again?

Maybe it was the Prozac? I know that particular medication affects the sex-drive, anyway. May I ask if you've gained a lot of weight since you were a child? Because there have been studies done in the past year that show that overweight people are consistently more mentally dull than a physically fit person of the same age. I've found this to be true for myself; as since I began my diet and excercise regimen a month ago, concentrating and executing tasks is *so* much easier than before.

My two female cats wont get along?

i have had my female cat poppy since a kitten, she is 4 years old and 2 weeks ago i adopted another female from a rescue centre who is 3 years old. when i first bought my new cat smartie home i did not realise poppy was in the house and they got into a massive fight resulting in poppy weeing everywhere. i split then up for a while and used a rag with each ones scent so they could get used to it. then they accidently met up again and got into another fight. i have no put them in a room together, supervised and whilst they havent psyically attacked each other poppy has been very hostile hissing and growling, smartie doesnt do anything back. will poppy ever at least tolerate smartie, i understand they will probably never be friends but i'd like to be able to leave a room or let them both outside at the same time with the knowledge they will just ignore each other rather than tear each other to shreds.

What activity would my GSD be good at? Any suggestions?

I have a 16 month old, small (55 lb), female rescue GSD. She has a lot of energy, more than that could be solved with a daily walk. I really want to do some type of activity/competition with her. We are looking at agility because she is super fast, nimble, agile, and can jump very high! She is very smart and can learn to do almost anything. She has pretty much no fear! She also has a high prey drive, and is very workable. I want this activity to tire her out because of all her energy. Is agility a good choice? Seems like a lot of work but is it worth it? She currently is at training classes so she is fairly well trained, not so sure she could be an obedience or rally dog, needs really fast pace. Oh she also loves water! What are some things she might be able to do?

I guess if they determine this to be a true story and any of these acts to be at all related to one another, then it is sad indeed, but has nothing to do with the US immigration laws except that people believe they have to enter Mexico and other central american countries on their way to enter illegally into the US because our govt wont make it easier and just let them in in the first place.

Am I gifted or just bright?

I saw my mum looking up information about the johns Hopkins program for gifted and talented students. She was on their website because I scored above 95 on my ERBs. I did the SCAT test but i only got into the online programs for verbal and math. Last school year i was in the second highest math class(fast moving) and on my mastery i got a 95( 5 points extra credit so i really got 100). Also in my math class i was very bored because i already knew all of the material that my math teacher taught us. The school year before the past one i got a 99 on my math mastery(no bonus) and most of the time was put with the most advanced group. Last school year in math it was very rare for me to get below an A on everything my math teacher gave us to do. At the end of the year i finished with not grade below an A in all classes with an A+ in math (I go to a private school) . I looked up the signs someone gifted and i have the majority of them. In all of my classes i learn extremely quickly and have never gotten below a b+ on a test when I'm not trying. Again in the past school year in my math class i never got below a 99 on a graded classwork/test/quiz. If your wondering why i want to know it's because i just want to. Also i was on funbrain.com and i did levels 2 grades above me and finished the math arcade. My mum also says that i am more mature then most people my age. One time she had to ask if i could be moved into the next grade level class. Basically the only signs of a gifted child that i don't have are collecting materials and i enjoy my peers. One last thing. On all of the online quizzes that i've done they all said that i was gifted. And to make sure it was a little accurate i made my older sister do the same test/quizzes and it said that she wasn't. I also have a pretty good memory. Even if i am not involved in a situation i can remember conversations or words that were spoken.

Trying to repair some damage thirty years after the fact (sorry about the length)?

In 1981, my eight-year-old brother Andrew was kidnapped by a family acquaintance and held hostage for three weeks. During this time, he was routinely beaten and sexually abused by his captor. He was also burned with boiling water and forced to listen while his captor made crank calls to our family pretending to be the police, telling us that Andrew had been found. He was rescued after three weeks. It had taken that long to track him down because his captor had them moving around all the time. It's strange to me how a period of time as short as three weeks could destroy so many lives, and leave so many still broken after thirty years. Andrew's body recovered from the trauma, but his mind never healed. The Andrew that came back to us was not the Andrew we had previously known. Before the trauma, Andrew was very social and outgoing. We were only two years apart and always very close. I never had any other brothers or sisters. He was a sweet little boy with a good sense of humor, and, being an older sister, I teased him constantly. Not meanly, but in a playful way. He is the most ticklish person to ever walk planet Earth, and as a little kid he loved it when I tickled his feet. We wrestled and play-fought and just enjoyed being with each other. When he came back, everything changed. Andrew had always been close to me and my parents also, but after he came back he acted like he couldn't even stand the sight of us. I could never understand that. I thought he should be happy to be back with us, people who loved him. He told me when he was older that I was a stranger to him and that there was a gulf separating him from everyone else. He was resentful that other people hadn't been where he had been. When he first came back and started beng like that, I tried so hard to bring him back. I tickle-attacked him like I used to and even though he squirmed and laughed just the same, he didn't enjoy it at all. He wouldn't wrestle either, and didn't seem to want to be around me at all. He did well in school and never had issues with drugs and alcohol, he's been successful in life and has a wife and kids, but for the past thirty years you can tell that something in him is just gone. Something inside him died all those years ago and, despite this, I still hope so hard that I can bring him back. I still see him and our children play together, but that confidence is gone. He underwent counseling as a child and teen but it didn't help him and he doesn't see anyone anymore. I encourage him to see someone about his depression and the pain he still feels but he says it wouldn't make any difference. I'm sorry this post is so long but I just don't know what to do to help him. He's physically healthy and financially stable, but I want to be close to him again and my parents want the same. Is there anything I can do to bring him back, to make us all just a little closer?

I worked in a job,a very physically demanding job,for 10 years.I worked days and there was another employee in the same job as me on second shift.For the three years he was employed there Im guessing of 100% of the total work done 95% was done by me . Fellow employees would attest,as it was a running joke in our company for 3 years.3 years ago I was diagnosed with some very serious medical problems and 2 years ago I had surgery which was supposed to significantly limit my duties at work according to restrictions placed on me.My restrictions were broken daily,which I relize I was partly responsible for,and Im not afraid to say that my workload if anything increased instead of decreasing.While in turn my counterparts on 2nd shift decreased.Basically I was doing 99% of the work while he mostly slept at night or was never even there..My foreman informed me at least 15 times of how this employee was going to be fired for not doing his job and for even stealing from the company.In November,over the Thanksgiving weekend,I had worked feverishly to keep my jobsite afloat working all four days while other employees were off and our job was shut down.My counterpart also"worked" these four days and it was known by my foreman that he done absolutlely nothing the whole time he was there.The following Monday I had a near death experience as ,according to my Dr.,the over exertion from the previous 4 days had caused me to pass out,falling face first in 8" of water.A fellow employee saw it happen and pulled me out..After four days in the hospital I was informed by my employer that they no longer had anything for me at my jobsite to accomodate my restrictions.Im going to give you 1 guess at who has my job now..Yes your right my counterpart from second shift.With everyone I worked with in the entire company knowing that I was being "worked like a dog" and this guy was "getting away with murder" do I have any recourse against anyone be it the company,the foreman or the employee for me no longer having a job.I mean is it fair or is there a law against working one guy to death and then replacing him with the reason he was worked to death..

For a Harrier, the main obstacle would be the fuel requirement.They have very limited range for VTOL operations. Another obstacle would be the terrain, which would have to be ideal. Flat and solid, basically, with a minimum of loose debris and able to sustain the weight of the aircraft. Helicopters are far more versatile, efficient and effective. theoretically possible, but an absurd idea except for a fantasy movie plot.

So I posted this review of this local business online. The next day the owner calls me, threatening me. Calling me names, telling me "You finished this and I'm going to end it". When i told her to get lost after she told me to take down the review. This woman is whack. She owners a dog rescue, but she's not in it for the animals. Charging 400 dollars for a mutt. And then later she got the review removed. Somehow. I tried emailing the review company but nothing came about. When I posted there was 16 negative reviews and now there is nine. Later I found out that according to public domain, just a month ago she was charged with six counts of failure to keep a sanitary and humane kennel. If I posted that on a new review, is that at all slanderous? It's from court dockets, that have the charges. I want to stay within the law, while still not letting her win. Is it illegal to use court dockets against anyone like this? Any input?

Ideas on cause of swollen sheath in stud colt? I have a yearling stud colt that developed a swollen sheath...?

I rescued a yearling stud colt, well I BOUGHT him and his same-aged pasture-mate, two days ago. They are both very underfed, but very good natured. I let them settle for a day, then wormed them with Equimectrin, and they both have passed massive amounts of round worms. Today when I went out, I noticed the smaller of the two's sheath is very swollen. Not sure if all of these factors, or the stress of having a NORMAL life plays a part in this... just want some insight or ideas. I'm calling the vet regardless.

So for 2012 the senior class president was running against me in the election and I lost honestly. That in itself i don't mind at all. But for years this person has been cheating on every single test we have in school and I know several people who can attest to this. I don't feel comfortable at all about letting such a fraudulent person being president. So should I write the school a letter or just ignore it? BAD SAT Subject Test :( Help!?

I recently got a 660 on the Math Level 2 Subject Test. Ever since January, my SAT scores have been dropping and I'm really beginning to lose confidence. Can anyone with a Thinkpad T420 (the 14" model) attest to the ease of use for someone with large hands?

Does the Thinkpad T420 (March 2011) have the same keyboard as the 15 inch model? If it does, I assume I'd have no problems using it. I have a cat and a dog the cat is terrified would it help getting another cat?

We have had an adorable little cat Sonny for about a year and a half. She was great but our family decided to get a dog. A month has passed since we rescued our 10 month old Lab/Beagle mix ,Lucky.Their first experience was that of a chase. There were many more like this as long as the cat was on the move, but if the cat was at the window staying still a couple barks and Lucky calmed down. As for when the cat is running we are truly scared the dog may injure the cat. Then we thought getting another cat might help but were not sure. Jack Dempseys and brackish conditions?

This may seem a ridiculous question but I wanted to hear some opinions on this matter (more out of curiousity than anything)- can Jack Dempseys tolerate mildly brackish water? Take money out of the equation. Money is NOT what is important in life. Sure, it helps to have money saved for when you need it. But, it shouldn't define you as a person. I say, forget how much money you have in the bank and instead focus on where you want your life to go. So, you might have to take the bus instead of buy a car. You still have means to improve your life and direct your life the way you want it to go. Focus on who you are without your job/education/bank account defining you. Who are you inside? Work on developing that person. Yes, focus on your education and bettering your financial situation but not for the sake of making it to the upper/middle class.

4-5 week old kitten (female) peeing blood?

I rescued a (estimated) 4 week old female kitten. I have been giving it Hartz milk replacement and give it a tiny bit of Whiskas cat food twice a day (not the crunchy solid food but the wet solid food). We took it to the vet about a week ago and they gave it medicine to de-worm it but said that it was too young for shots. The kitten knows to use the litter box and does regularly. However every other day (or two) she will pee and it looks like gooey blood is coming out. When she gets this gooey blood coming out it isn't really a liquid and stays attached to her until I wipe it away. Also she starts peeing everywhere (except the litter box, which she knows to use) when the blood is there. After I wipe/pull away the blood (sometimes it doesn't come off if you just wipe) she attempts to pee and more comes out, and it practically blocks her from peeing. When this happens it normally lasts about an hour or two before it just returns to normal. Does anyone know whats going on with her? She hasn't been stepped on or injured in anyway so I don't really know whats happening.

How to know if you horse is going to gray out...?

I have an arab cross with unknown lines and unknown parents. He's a rescue and is 2 years old approximately. When we took him on he was black and has steadily been getting lighter into tan colors like a typical bleaching out dark bay horse but I've had a few people say he will gray out. It doesn't matter to me either way. When will he start showing if he's going to turn out to be gray or not? Wouldn't he already be showing signs of graying out? He's got some white spots on his withers but that's it. When he gets bitten in the pasture, the hair grows back dark black.

Female cat with behavior problems.?

Okay so, a year ago I rescued and tiny, malnourished, and terrified female kitten. She was only a few weeks old. I'm a cat person and have raised many cats. This kitten, Willow has been raised by me, and only me for the last year. She's really sweet, but seems to almost be bipolar. She appears to have taken a liking to clawing my face. About 20 minutes ago she came downstairs purring, so I said "good morning" to her, picked her up and pet her and then kissed her shoulder blade. She responded by clawing my forehead and growling and not letting go until I had 6 bleeding puncture wounds on my forehead. I might expect that from an unfamiliar cat who I did not raise, but I'm stumped. I have 4 other cats that I have raised like I've raised her, and they're docile and exceptionally loving. Then again, they're all males. I need some advice on how to curve this behavior. She loves me, and is really affectionate but acts almost bipolar when she does this. It's happened multiple times. My dog killed a kitten?

I have a rescue dog, Had it for nearly two years now. We ended up with it as originally we fostered it for a friend who runs a rescue centre till it could be sent to the RSPCA to be re-homed. The dog hates being confined anywhere, which is why we took it. It was being kept in a centre and was driving them crazy barking all the time. Well, the dog went to the rspca who kept it confined (they were supposed to be sending to a foster home) which made it play up and they said it cant be re-homed and must be put down. We told them we would take it back rather than put it down, and so have had it since. The dog is a bit of an escape artist, jumps high fences, slips his lead/collar/harness and runs amok in general. It dislikes other dos, HATES cats (we have some) and if it sees any animal smaller than itself turns into a bully.It escaped off its coller and chain last night (during the day it stays out back on a chain as it escapes otherwise) and ran to our neighbors farm (over the road) my hubby went after it, went into their yard and noticed a small kennel with kittens. He closed the door, but left it open a bit in case the mother came back. Our dog ran past, saw the kittens pulled them all out shook, 2 of them, then killed the 3rd. My hubby tried to get him off the kitten, but every-time he went near, the dog snapped at him. He eventually managed to get his lead on and dragged him off (too late for the poor kitten though). We are at our wits end now. We cant keep the dog indoors because of our cats plus young children, and the dogs hate being confined in a room. We cant confine this dog as it will escape (our other dog does not) and as we live in a farming community, if it goes near or harasses any other animals, it will probably end up shot. I think we should get shot asap, hubby wants to try and train the dog, but is busy on a farm and does not really have the time. Does anyone have any advice/suggestions? Thank you

In desperate need of help for training my Lab/Pitbull mix.?

My fiance and I have had this dog since November of 2010. We rescued him from the pound. He was one of a litter of eight male puppies and we were given no information on the parents. He looks like a lab mostly but some people say he has some characteristics of a pitbull as well. My fiance and I DO NOT want to get rid of him, but we are at a loss of what else to do. This is the worst dog we have EVER had. And we have tried everything from cage training to the clicker to a shock collar to a sonic sound remote. Nothing works. If you reprimand him, he actually barks back at you. He doesn't listen AT ALL to anyone telling him to stay off the couch or not to eat food off the table or anything. He bites hard, and when I lay on the bed, he actually bites the back of my neck and my fiances neck. Spanking doesn't work, he still barks and bites back. My fiance and I definitely want children sometime but neither of us trust this dog enough to even let him near OTHER children. If we do get rid of him we can't even consider giving him to a family because he bites. We both love this dog to death and want it to work but he is destructive and has destroyed a leather couch we haven't even had for a month that we still need to make payments on. We live in an apartment, but he goes for daily walks and occasionally goes to the dog park or a friends back yard when we go over for barbeques. We put him through a training course at PetSmart and he failed MISERABLY. He was the barking trouble maker in the class. We got him the shock collar and he learned that he only gets shocked when he barks loudly so he started just moaning quietly enough so that it was still annoying but not shocking him. I am with him all morning and my fiance is with him all night. What can we do?!?!?!

Cat Problems with going to the bathroom?

Trying to get close with my brother again after a trauma that occured thirty years ago?

In 1981, my eight-year-old brother Andrew was kidnapped by a family acquaintance and held hostage for three weeks. During this time, he was routinely beaten and sexually abused by his captor. He was also burned with boiling water and forced to listen while his captor made crank calls to our family pretending to be the police, telling us that Andrew had been found. He was rescued after three weeks. It had taken that long to track him down because his captor had them moving around all the time. It's strange to me how a period of time as short as three weeks could destroy so many lives, and leave so many still broken after thirty years. Andrew's body recovered from the trauma, but his mind never healed. The Andrew that came back to us was not the Andrew we had previously known. Before the trauma, Andrew was very social and outgoing. We were only two years apart and always very close. I never had any other brothers or sisters. He was a sweet little boy with a good sense of humor, and, being an older sister, I teased him constantly. Not meanly, but in a playful way. He is the most ticklish person to ever walk planet Earth, and as a little kid he loved it when I tickled his feet. We wrestled and play-fought and just enjoyed being with each other. When he came back, everything changed. Andrew had always been close to me and my parents also, but after he came back he acted like he couldn't even stand the sight of us. I could never understand that. I thought he should be happy to be back with us, people who loved him. He told me when he was older that I was a stranger to him and that there was a gulf separating him from everyone else. He was resentful that other people hadn't been where he had been. When he first came back and started beng like that, I tried so hard to bring him back. I tickle-attacked him like I used to and even though he squirmed and laughed just the same, he didn't enjoy it at all. He wouldn't wrestle either, and didn't seem to want to be around me at all. He did well in school and never had issues with drugs and alcohol, he's been successful in life and has a wife and kids, but for the past thirty years you can tell that something in him is just gone. Something inside him died all those years ago and, despite this, I still hope so hard that I can bring him back. I still see him and our children play together, but that confidence is gone. He underwent counseling as a child and teen but it didn't help him and he doesn't see anyone anymore. I encourage him to see someone about his depression and the pain he still feels but he says it wouldn't make any difference. Our dog came from a rescue centre in Liverpool, and he had a bad time before he was taken there. A while after we got him we were sitting on a bench with him and a guy came past who was obviously from Liverpool who had a strong Scouse accent and our dog went crazy at him.
