Does the professional credibility of a believer persuade you?

The only reason I call myself an atheist is because I read about and studied religion. I know it's mythology and I understand the rationale for belief in god. It doesn't matter what degrees a theist has, if they don't have viable evidence to support their claims, then their arguments are just as useless as any other theist argument.
