My dog might be pregnant but she is 10 yr and spaying its to risky what shoi should i do?

i have a 10 yr poodle mix i found her tied to my 2 yr male schnauzer last night and i am afraid she might be pregnant. due to her age my vet told me i should get her spayed but it might be risky but there is more risk if she is pregnant. I am not a breeder she was never spayed because she always been an inside and my only dog.i got her when she was 5. the schnauzer was a neglected dog and i just recently rescued him. i brought him home and set up an apointment to get him neuter but unfortunately my poodle started her season last week. i am afraid she might be pregnant i dont know what to do if i shoulld risk it and get her spayed or let her have her puppies
