Yes, you are exactly correct - according to the bible, god is not a man, and Jesus is not god. Seems like the church got carried away at some point and decided that Jesus is god, and destroyed any other gospels that did not agree with them. You can still see in places in the bible that the early church did not believe in the divinity of Jesus. But it doesn't make the bible anything more than a history / storybook anyway. Have a nice day.
