Ideas for raising money for pet rescue?

I own and operate my own pet rescue, for about 6 months now and everything for these animals comes straight out of my pocket. I have a petfinder account http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/MI809.html and everything. I am searching for some ideas to do to help boost donations. I bake cookies and set up at different places to sell pop, cookies and potted plants are their any other ideas I might be missing that's not to juvenile like a car wash, lol! A silent auction and garage sale are like out of the question too because I donate stuff and don't hold on to things to have a big enough garage sale.
