Black Lab Puppy throwing up?

So I've got a puppy today. He's a rescue, got him from my cousin. He's 8 weeks old and is a black lab. I'm sitting at my grandmas house, we'll be here for a few more hours before we leave. We didn't have any dog food, so we fed him some chicken and ham, thinking it shouldn't be to bad, as we had to give him his worm medicene anyways. We fed him abou an hour ago, and now he's vomitting everywhere. He'd vomit and heave alot, then walk around for about 5 minutes and start again. I think he's finally done, but I'm worried if we feed him to give him the rest of his worm meds he might start to vomit again. We do not have a car to go get food right now, my dad has it. Is there something we can feed him? And also, we have an 8 hour car ride home, is there something we should do to prepare him? I was thinking of letting him sleep in the bck seat with me.
